Word Power

wordpower4The book of James in the bible has a great verse about our tongues being the rudder of a ship.

The words we use in our daily speech, our conversations, our interactions, are charges of Energy associated with meanings.  They are spells of magic we cast on a daily basis.  The pronounced words are just sounds- yet sounds  resonate at some frequency of Energy.  Practitioners of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) understand this concept, and use it to shift peoples Energy in one direction or another.  When we associate a meaning to those sounds, we are instilling our Energy into a phrase or sentence.

Indeed, we steer the Creation of our lives with the Words we choose to use and not use.

Are you using the words:

“You’re so damn stupid!”,

“Anyone could do this better than you”,

“I’m sorry I wasted my time on this”,

“You never learn”,

“You’ll never do it”

or… are you using the Words:

“That’s amazing!”,

“I know you can do it”,

“I love you”,

“I’ll help you”,

“I’m here for you”,

“Thank you”

Did you notice a difference in the Energy each statement exerts?

Did you notice a difference in the Energy each statement exerts?  Spoken words are merely vocalized forms of sound.  Sound is vibrational waves of Energy.  Our words, then, have a distinct Energetic signature.  How we word our words together to form sentences of logical thought also creates patterns of these energetic signatures.  When we abuse the Energy of language, it’s as if we’re wielding an unruly tool to hack and chisel our place in our own environment.  No worries, we all have to learn, on our own, what Energy we want our language to reflect….or deflect. (!)

Got it?

Good, onto the real message:

Maybe, instead of saying “I want…”, we could say in its place, “I allow myself to accept…into my life”.

Allowing yourself to accept something into your life implies a mental state of readiness to receive as well as a commitment to intention.

Esther and Jerry Hicks, sharers of the Knowledge that is Abraham, offered “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” instead of saying “I want”.  If you’d like to study this topic further, they have wonderful books on the subject.  However you diffuse your verbal arsenal with Source Energy is a personal choice.  Say what feels best for you.  Say what you resonate with the most.

Now, the reason for this softer and gentler vocabulary that carries a Big Stick is the approach one must take in gaining our desires, wishes, and dreams. “I want” connotes need. It symbolizes that whatever it is that you want is not now present in your life. Of course, it’s why you want it right? Saying “I need” is more of a firm belief and acceptance of the fact that you do not have what you want.

It’s almost as if you push it away from yourself by wanting it even more, as if the continuity of your existence and happiness depends on receiving what it is you want.

See, it’s really not about what is said- it’s about how it’s said, and where the intent comes from.

“I want” is a statement of discontent and impatience. “I want” involves desire, greed, lust and a single minded approach to getting something. Certainly, this attitude can be moralistic and drives someone to achieve something- but therein lies the catch:  for those, “I want” is no longer a matter of language, but of action. Someone is turning their desire, greed and pursuit of something into a series of actions that they believe will help them achieve something. Their language has become one of action- and when one does, one attaches a different sort of resonance to their intention in receiving something- the same type of resonance that comes from the statement “I allow myself to accept…into my life” and even “Wouldn’t it be nice if…”

I trust in your power and ability to begin, or continue, changing your reality and energy with the mere words you use!

Big Hugs,

J. Henry
