Karen Shishido, Board Member

Karen Shishido is the Energy Project Manager for Hawai'i Energy’s Transformational Program, which works to transform the way our state approaches its energy challenges over a three- to five- year time period. The transformational program encourages making smart energy choices, providing outreach and education and professional/technical development of the workforce. It also advocates for the adoption of updated building codes and standards and the review of emerging clean energy technologies. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature and Asian Studies from Occidental College and an MA from the University of Delaware in Urban Affairs and Public Policy, with a concentration in energy and environmental policy. She also serves on the boards of Kanu Hawai'i and the Hawai'i Alliance for Progressive Action.
